Built in the 1800s but renovated to five-star standards in 2016, The Barn is an iconic Manx stone building set on the slopes of South Barrule, with a stunning view over to Castletown, the South Coast, and the sea. The farm was the setting for the dramatic rescue from extinction of the Manx Loughtan sheep at the turn of the century.

From the Airport / South

Turn right out of the airport and follow the road to Ballasalla, turning left again at both roundabouts onto the A7. Soon you will come to “Cross Four Ways”, a slightly staggered crossroads. Turn right, onto the A3, and approx. ¼ mile later take the first left. You are now on the road to Ballaloaghtan – follow it downhill, over a small bridge, then uphill for approximately 1 mile to find our entrance on our left.

From the Sea Terminal / Douglas

Turn left out of the Sea Terminal, and left again at the next roundabout to cross the swing bridge over the Quay. Turn right and follow the road past the university and out of town. At each subsequent roundabout or crossroads always go straight until you come to the village of Foxdale and arrive at a T junction. Turn left on the A3. After passing the South Barrule plantation on your right, look for “Salomon’s Cottage”, a white house built on the very edge of the road. Exactly next to the cottage. Signposted B39 Ronague, turn right on “Road of the Gray Hill” (Corlea Road in Manx) and follow it for 1.2 miles (2 km). There are no turns to the left except on unmade tracks or into homes. After 1.2 miles you will see a real turn to the left, take it and you will descend into Kerrowkeil Hamlet, then pass a white chapel on your left. Shortly thereafter the entrance to our driveway is on your right.
